5 Tips how to stick to your New Years resolutions

Don’t kick your goals to the Curb

Hey gorgeous!

February already and time is flying. Not long ago you celebrated New Year and maybe you said: „Next year I will …. do more sports, stop smoking, eat healthy …… and so on. Did you?

And why do I post pictures with a horse?

Because horses are strong animals and so can be you! So don’t kick your goals to the curb, just because it’s getting difficult.

At first….

your excited and it’s easy to stick to your plans. You notice positive changes….. but then….. suddenly, it‘s becoming difficult. The weight isn’t dropping as fast as at the beginning or you feel too tired to hit the gym. Sounds familiar? Don’t worry, just follow the 5 tips to stay on track.

1.Be realistic setting your goals and start with small goals

Being ambitious is great, but be realistic setting your goals. For example if you’ve always hated sports it’s not realistic that you’ll hit the gym every day. Later maybe, but at first start with once or twice a week. That’s a 100 to 200 percent more what you’ve done before. Amazing!

2. Make it measurable

When you set a goal, it’s important to make it measurable. “I will do more sports”, isn’t measurable. Instead say “I’ll work out twice a week for an hour.” That will make it much easier for you to feel good and be proud of yourself, when you did it.

3. Make it a habit

O.k. fine, your goal is set. Let’s stick to the same example - sports. You’ve decided to work out twice a week. Choose fix dates, like every Monday and Thursday for example. Maybe it’s difficult at first, but trust me, after a while it’ll become a habit. Statistics say that in average it takes 66 days to develop a habit. And that’s the average. Maybe you’ll only need two weeks? Who knows?

4. Talk about it

Yes, definitely you should. Why? Because it’s difficult to quit when a lot of people will ask you why you quit. So spread it around. Also I’m pretty sure that you’ll get support from others or find like minded people, who are sharing your goal.

5. Stay positive and trust yourself

Don’t beat yourself up, when you don’t reach your goal as fast as you thought you could. Do you know what’s the opposite of success? It’s quitting.

Trust yourself that you’re capable of reaching your goal. Envision how you will feel having reached it.
