X-Mas and New Year is around! Good yummy food and sweets everywhere. Sometimes difficult to resist, isn’t it? I know hardly anybody who says, “No problem” . So how to save yourself from overeating?
With a few tricks you won’t overeat and feel amazing.
Drink a glass of Water
Have a glass of water before you start eating! Sounds easy - yepp, it is!
A glass of water fills up your stomach, which won’t feel that “empty” anymore. With no calories at all, you don’t feel that hungry anymore and won’t eat everything which is around.
Having finished your meal have another glass, if you still feel like eating more. Side effect, you stay hydrated.
Watch your portions
If you’re not invited at a friends house, you’ll often find a buffet with so, so much good food, hard to decide what to eat or not. So you might wanna eat it all :) - Believe me, I know that problem.
First, invision that this won’t be the only occasion where good food is around this or next year. You’ll also have access to good food after the holiday season.
Second, watch your portions. If you normally eat one full plate, don’t eat more. You like deserts, eat one. But don’t eat two or three, make a choice, like you always have to make a choice.
Third, have a good mix of protein (fish, meat , good carbs like vegetable and fats, which will fit on one plate :)
Eat like French people
What I’m talkin’ about? I’m talkin’ about talkin’. Have you ever noticed that in France, people sit for hours talking and eating.
In France meals have a strong social character, you eat while you do business, meat friends and family celebrating the meal.
So talk more than you eat. Holiday season is about socializing.
How much alcohol do you like to drink?
Did you know that? Whenever you drink alcohol, wine, cocktails your metabolism slows down. It’s a lot harder for your body to burn calories, when you drink a lot of wine or other drinks.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t drink anything, just watch it, especially if your invited a couple of time. Make a decision, how many drinks you want to have for example. 3 invitation - 6 drinks for example.
Invision how you want to look in January!
Last but not least, invision what you want to look like next year. Do you really want to start your year with a diet, getting rid of the holiday pounds? Probably not.
So, just watch it a bit more now and everything will be fine next year.
