How to style a pleated maxi skirt

Dress like a royal

Hey gorgeous!

Of course, I’m just kidding, when I’m saying “ dress like a royal”…. it’s just the color I’m talkin’ about - Royal Blue. What an awesome color I thought when I first saw this skirt. This one was a “must have” for me, as I love this bright color.

This colors works so well in winter, matching black and white at its best. Even if it’s dark outside, you’ll shine.

Focus - Less is more

This outfit combines many trends, pleated maxi skirt and cropped sweater with wide arms. As this skirt is sticking out, I kept the rest of the outfit clean. My philosophie when dressing, is to focus on one eye catching piece and not two or three of them. Less is more.

Black to keep it cool

Royal Blue works with white, grey or black and even red could work. So today I decided to style the rest of the outfit in black. My sweater has a lace optic with wide arms. By the way my absolute favorite one - its works with almost anything.

My coat is also black and has a hood, which makes the look a bit more casual. And of course, when it is raining (which it does far too often here) the hood keeps my hair dry without using an umbrella.

Wearing a maxi skirt a coat which is quite a bit shorter or longer is a good option. The difference in length makes the look more exciting.

Accessories

Last but not least - the accessories - all black. At the moment I prefer small cross body bags instead of big shoppers. The velvet booties have a 5 cm kitten heel, which makes them easy to walk on even they’ve a pointed toe.
